Above are the 7 books I own that have yet to be read. I have decided to make it my mission to read at least half of these this Autumn, which will be a challenge since I now have a bunch of books I also need to be reading for school.
Art in the Blood by Bonnie MacBird
I got this from a school author visit and even got a chance to have a chat with the author. We discussed different Holmes adaptations and she was super nice.
Uprooted by Naomi Novik
I love a good retelling, and Uprooted sounds like a combination of some of my favourites like Beauty and the Beast with elements of 1,001 Nights.
Whisper to Me by Nick Lake
Part of my YALC book haul which I picked up on a whim. I've looked it up and am pretty excited to read it now since I haven't read enough fiction that addresses mental illness.Running Girl by Simon Mason
Another part of my YALC book haul - it was recommended to me by a friend and I've been needing some good mystery books in my life lately. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Got this from a charity shop and it's been on my Goodreads to read list for far too long. Curse those new releases always getting in the way!Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer
I bought this 4 years ago - making it the oldest book on my TBR. What's worse is that it's the 8th book in a series I barely remember, so I suspect I may never get around to reading it.Elementary: The Ghost Line by Adam Christopher
This is super short so I don't know why I keep putting it off, especially because I love the TV show that inspired it.
How big is your physical TBR pile?
I am the same way with The Help! I really want to read it, and it's been on my shelf forever. I don't know why I haven't read it... I hope you'll like these all though :D
ReplyDeleteYeah it sucks because everyone says The Help is excellent. And Thanks :D
DeleteThe Help is an excellent book!
ReplyDeleteHere is my TTT: https://4thhouseontheleft.wordpress.com/2016/09/27/top-ten-tuesday-autumn-tbr-list/
Hopefully I'll enjoy it when I get around to it then :)
DeleteI keep seeing Uprooted everywhere. It sounds great! I've also had The Help on my to read list for way too long. Maybe I'll get to it one day!
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten
Here's to hoping we both one day read The Help and enjoy it as much as everyone else! And yeah, Uprooted sounds interesting, especially since I'm a fan of retellings. I'm interested to see what the author did with it to make it different from the original.
DeleteThe Help is a really good book! I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT!
Happy Reading!
Thanks I hope so too!
DeleteI've picked up Whisper and Me quite recently too and it sounds super interesting and I just love the colours on the cover. Ooohh I didn't know that there was Elementary books, I love the show too I imagine these would be fun quick little reads. Great list I hope you enjoy them all.

I have heard very little about Whisper to Me but the cover was too pretty for me to not get it!
DeleteI didn't know about the Elementary books until I scrolled through the Goodreads giveaway pages and spotted it. I'm hoping the book gets the Holmes and Watson dynamic down because their relationship in Elementary is probably my favourite out of all the adaptations and definitely my favourite thing about the show. Thanks Michelle :)
