1. Smoke and Iron by Rachel Caine
I'm really excited for the fourth installment in The Great Library series. I kind of forget what happens in between books, but I always fall into the world again the second I start reading.
2. City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab
The cover for this looks so cool! Plus I love Schwab's books. So obviously this is a must read (restraining myself from pre-ordering is tough).
3. Vengeful by V.E. Schwab
This might be my most anticipated book of the year. I adore Vicious and I'm terrified for the sequel. Also, the cover redesigns are stunning!
4. There Will be Other Summers by Benjamin Alire Saenz
This always ends up on my list whenever I talk about anticipated books. I've been waiting on an Ari and Dante sequel for 2 years, but I have no idea when it will come out!
5. The Hazel Wood #2 by Melissa Albert
The Hazel Wood was a wonderfully creepy book. I can't imagine what the sequel will look like but I'm excited. I'm even more excited for Tales From the Hinterland!
6. The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
The Gentleman's Guide was utterly lovable. I look forward to seeing what Felicity gets up to in her own book, and I hope we hear a little about what the boys are up to as well.
7. Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman
I recently fell in love with Bowman's debut Starfish, and I want to read everything she publishes now. Summer Bird Blue sounds like another heart-breaker.
8. The Shadow Game #2 by Amanda Foody
I made the mistake of reading my ARC of Ace of Shades far too early. Now I have to wait even longer for the sequel and it's painful because I NEED MORE.
9. Legacy of Orisha #2 by Tomi Adeyemi
I read Children of Blood and Bone as soon as it was released, but even though the wait will be shorter than Ace of Shades it doesn't make it any easier!
10. The Dreamer Trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater
Every time Maggie posts a snippet of what she's working on I want to scream. I have no idea what this series will be about, but it has my boys and that's all that matters to me.
What unpublished books are you desperate to read? Have you read anything by these authors before?
This post was inspired by the prompt 'Books I'd Slay A Lion to Get Early' on Top 10 Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
Ugh yes, Vengeful is my most anticipated release of this year, I can't wait to get back into the story!!
ReplyDeleteNeither can I! I am both thrilled and terrified. I need to re-read Vicious soon so that I can prepare for what is to come!
DeleteI've seen Vengeful on a lot of lists today! I hope you get to read it soon. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Vicious is one of my favourite books so I've been unable to contain my excitement since seeing the cover for Vengeful :D
DeleteCity of Ghosts was on my list this week too. I stil need to catch up on the Great Library series, and I am so excited for the Dreamer trilogy!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2018/05/01/top-ten-tuesday-157/
There are so many good series' to start and continue in 2018 and in the next couple of years, I can hardly wait! I hope you enjoy them all :)
DeleteI FEEL YOU ON SO MANY LEVELS! I am eagerly waiting for the Dreamer Trilogy as well. I am not reading any snippets because I don't like teasers like that, so I am basically pretending her twitter doesn't exist until we have book one D: I also really need Legacy of Orisha and also the sequel by Mackenzi Lee! Series really make waiting patiently an art ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had your strength, Olivia! Every time Maggie posts an ominous snippet without specifying what project it is from I get far more excited than I should and then send it to my friends (who I forced to read The Raven Cycle) asking them "WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS MEANS??" :'D
DeleteOh I can relate. I thought I was a patient person but when it comes to anticipated sequels it becomes difficult!
This is a good post. This post gives truly quality information. I’m definitely going to look into it. Really very useful tips are provided here. Thank you so much. Keep up the good works. Slay Eyelashes
