Bowman's debut, Starfish, quickly became one of my favourite books, and Summer Bird Blue is just as beautifully written. Both are stories about art and family and growth and love in all senses of the term and capture a spectrum of emotions that few other writers can accomplish. So, of course, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the Street Team for her third book, Harley in the Sky.
Releasing in 2020, Harley in the Sky is about a girl who runs away from home to join her family's rival circus. There she works to fulfil her dream of becoming a trapeze artist, whilst also unearthing her family's complicated past.
Isn't the cover stunning? Whilst Bowman's first two book covers look more earthy with their birds and oceans, the cover for Harley in the Sky really captures the magic of the circus.
You can learn more about the book over at Paste Magazine. Not only do they have the official blurb, but they also have a preview of the first chapter which has me even more excited to read it.
What are some of your favourite books set in the circus?
