Releases I'm Looking Forward to in the First Half of 2017

Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
There weren't too many new releases I was looking forward to this year, but 2017 has me excited. Coming up next year are books by authors I love and continuations of series I'm hooked on, plus a few others that have caught my interest.

1. History Is All You Left Me (17th January 2017)
I recently followed Adam Silvera on twitter and I think he's great, so I really want to read some of his books. Thankfully I have an E-ARC of History, although I'm a little worried about reading it because it sounds super sad. I need to be in the right mood before I pick it up!

2. The Bear and the Nightingale (17th January 2017)
I requested this E-ARC on a whim and I got it so I can't wait to dig into it. The cover has a very unique flair and the premise has a wintery mysterious vibe so I feel the season it's being published in is appropriate.

3. Nowhere Near You (7th February 2017)
I read Because You'll Never Meet Me in the summer and I fell so deeply in love with it and the characters, which is something I never expected. So when I found out last week that we're getting a sequel I started losing my mind over how quickly I will be able to get a copy in my hands.

4. A Conjuring of Light (21st February 2017)
The 3rd and final installment of the Shades of Magic series. I love everything in Shades of Magic, from the characters to the magnificient world, and with book 2 ending how it did I think it's safe to say I very much need this book in my life ASAP.

5. The Hate U Give (28th February 2017)
Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, this book has recieved a lot of attention. It already has a movie confirmed, and even though it's not out yet I'm quite glad it's getting this hype. The topic is incredibly important and painfully real so this is a read I will definitely be investing in.

6. False Hearts (UK Paperback: 20th April 2017)
The concept of False Hearts gripped me from the second I read it so much that I immediately added it to my TBR and have been waiting impatiently to get my hands on a copy. It's a sci-fi about once conjoined twins and is super diverse and has a lot of mystery (all things I love), and having recently read and adored Laura Lam's Pantomime I have high hopes.

7. The Upside of Unrequited (11th April 2017)
I loved Simon vs. The Homosapiens Agenda, so I'm super grateful to have an ARC of this book! I am trying to keep my expectations low, though, so I don't keep comparing it to Simon and get disappointed.

8. Our Dark Duet (13th June 2017)
I love everything Schwab, as you likely all know already so this release is a must. I do have to reread This Savage Song first though, because I was in a slump when I read it and it majorly impacted my enjoyment of it. But the concept is brilliant in typical Schwab fashion and it's a duology therefore shorter than most series so I'm willing to read it all regardless.

9. Now I Rise (27th June 2017)
I was blown away by how much I enjoyed And I Darken, because historical fiction rarely works for me, especially newer historical books. But And I Darken was a one-of-a-kind highly character driven novel and I'm invested in the future of the characters and who they are going to become.

    1. i know, right? Normally I have very few anticipated releases for the following year every December but this year I have 11 (the one missing from this list is Ash and Quill by Rachel Caine because it comes out in the second half of 2017).

  4. Schwab is totally on my TBR for 2017, too! I read This Savage Song this year and wasn't crazy about it - but it did make me want to start the Darker Shades trilogy. Hope you enjoy her this year, too!

    1. I love Schwab so much, although I didn't love This Savage Song either. I've mainly blamed my uninterest in the story on being in a reading slump at the time. But I also found it very generic YA dystopia which isn't my favourite genre, no matter how amazing the concept is (and monsters coming from bad deeds is a super cool concept). I'd absolutely recommend her adult books though! The Shades of Magic series and Vicious are mind blowingly good and some of my favourite books. Thanks!
