Anticipated Releases in the Second Half of 2017

Continuing on from my post about anticipated releases in the first half of 2017, here are some for the second half. Again, the majority are continuations of series I have started already, but there are a couple on the list that are very new to me but sound very cool.

1. Our Dark Duet (13th June 2017)
This was on my list at the start of the year, but this post rolled around sooner than I expected, so here it is again. I have to reread This Savage Song before I get to this, because I was in a slump when I read it and it majorly impacted my enjoyment of it. But the concept is brilliant in typical Schwab fashion so I'm willing to read the series regardless.

2. Shattered Minds (20th June 2017)
This book is set in the same world as False Hearts, which was on my previous list too. I admit I haven't actually read False Hearts, but I kindly received an eARC of the sequel. I expect these intriguing sci-fis to be just as creepily fascinating as they sound.

3. Now I Rise (6th July 2017)
Also on last time's post (this is the last one, I swear!). I was blown away by how much I enjoyed And I Darken, because historical fiction rarely works for me. But And I Darken was a one-of-a-kind highly character driven novel and I'm invested in the future of the characters and who they are going to become.

4. Ash and Quill (11th July 2017)
I have probably gone on before about how much I love The Great Library series. The third book is coming out this year and I am really looking forward to it. The concept is insanely cool and the series is highly underrated which breaks my heart.

5. Because You Love to Hate Me (11th July 2017)
I'm not one for short story anthologies, but I'm willing to give this one a try because I absolutely love well-written villains. I first came across this because V.E. Schwab was one of the writers, but I'm also interested to read the stories by the other writers on here whose names I recognise. Hopefully if I like some of their stories enough I can then hunt down their books.

6. Meddling Kids (11th July 2017)
I came across this on Netgalley and I kind of love the concept. I love the Scooby-Doo mystery vibe it has, plus it's recommended for fans of Welcome to Night Vale, which I am. Plus I'm a sucker for a good mystery featuring a group of characters working together.

7. Worlds Collide (11th July 2017)
This is the finale book in The Land of Stories series and I'm kind of sad it's ending. I've been following the adventures of the Bailey twins for years so it feels strange to think I'll be losing them. I wasn't a big fan of the previous book compared to the others, but I'm hoping this finale will do the whole series justice.

8. 27 Hours (3rd October 2017)
Stories set in space are finally starting to grow on me, but I have yet to willingly read any, because it feels like there's a lot that can go wrong. Nevertheless, I'm really looking forward to 27 Hours. It sounds like an incredibly diverse story which is what made it grab my attention, and I'm hoping it will do the genre justice for me.

9. All the Crooked Saints (10th October 2017)
I adore The Raven Cycle, but somehow I have never read another Maggie Stiefvater novel. I've heard mixed things about her older books, but I truly am excited for All The Crooked Saints. I'm hoping to find the magic in this that I did with The Raven Boys.

What releases are you looking forward to in the remainder of 2017? Does your list match up with mine at all? Are there any books I've listed that you've never heard of?

  1. I wonder if the same books coming out in the UK are coming out here in the US. I bet there are differences.

    1. I think most of these are coming out in both the UK and US, but a bunch of them have different cover art, and a couple have slightly different release dates.

  2. I couldn't agree with you more on Ash and Quill! Love The Great Library series and I'm anxious to find out what happens. And may I just say that the UK cover is way cooler than the US cover?! I'm a little jealous ;)

    Here's my TTT.

    1. It's an excellent series - I'm glad you think so too! I'm undecided on if I prefer the UK or US covers for this series. I might like them both equally!

  3. I'm so excited about Now I Rise and All the Crooked Saints! I really need to read This Savage Song and Ink and Bone. Great list!

    My Top Ten

    1. The excitement is real! I'm not sure Now I Rise and All The Crooked Saints have the same release date here in the UK as the US but I hope so because I don't want to wait too long. Also I know Now I Rise has a different UK cover, but I have no idea about ATCS. Maggie Stiefvater's books in the UK are normally slightly different to the US versions so I'm intereste to see if/how it changes!

  4. Because You Love to Hate Me sounds fabulous. I am a huge anthology person, and I had no idea about this one! On my TBR it goes!

    1. It does sound pretty awesome, doesn't it? It features a bunch of authors I've heard excellent things about, plus the theme of villains! I'm sure it will be fabulous!

  5. Our Dark Duet, Ash and Quill and All The Crooked Saints were all on my list this week too!
