Books Every Sci-Fi Superstar Should Read

Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
A while ago I posted books for the Fantasy Fanatic, and as I like terrible humour, here are some books for the Sci-Fi Superstar (lame I know).

1. The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell

2. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell

3. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North

4. Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson

5. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

6. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

  2. I really want to get round to reading The Bone Clocks! I loved the other David Mitchell books I've read so hopefully that'll be a good read too. And Artemis Fowl is always winner. :) (Although where I am they've made new covers and I am NOT AT ALL a fan.) (Sorry. The covers are very important to me.) I haven't read loads of sci-fi, but the first that comes to mind for me is probably Pierce Brown's Red Rising series.

    1. The Bone Clocks is wonderfully weird in the typical David Mitchell fashion. And oh my goodness the change in the UK Artemis Fowl covers - it felt like the most ultimate betrayal! I hate them with a passion, but since I couldn't find the old ones anymore I have a mismatched series with the first 3 in one cover and the remaining 5 in the new design. Also I've heard good things about Red Rising - I might check it out, thanks :D

  3. Artemis Fowl has been sitting on my TBR shelf for forever. I really need to find time to read it. Thanks for the list.

My Top Ten Tues Freebie week is on the most frustrating characters.

    1. I hope you do find the time. It's been forever since I read it but I loved it as a kid :)

  4. I rarely see Ultraviolet mentioned anywhere, it's nice to find someone else who likes it. I also love Artemis Fowl, although I usually classify it more as fantasy despite all the advanced tech the Fairies have.

    1. Ultraviolet is such an underrated book. I personally prefered the sequel, Quicksilver, but I'm surprised more people haven't read it! Artemis Fowl is wonderful - but it's been a while since I read it so I wasn't sure if it counted as Sci-Fi. It's not my most read genre and I normally prefer it to be blended with fantasy, unless it's super realistic, otherwise it doesn't really work for me. Thanks for visiting :)
