April Wrap Up // sci-fis and starfish

April was an amazing reading month! I discovered a new series obsession (Shatter Me) and a rare contemporary love (Starfish). Plus I caught up on the two latest volumes in a graphic novel series I've been following (Paper Girls). I probably would have read more had university not started again. I needed to re-read some of the sci-fi books I was assigned to write an essay on them (Dawn and The Gilda Stories). They weren't books I'd want to read more than once, and since I'd read them so recently, picking them up again was a bit of a chore. But they were still good books and my ratings for them stayed the same.

    I've also been keeping up with Paper Girls. Luckily the library buys the series, so I've just been borrowing it. But wow, I honestly did NOT expect the story to be that good. Or at least right up my alley. So that was a nice surprise :D

      I really need to request some graphic novels for my library. I've been lucky enough to find a few, but they are definitely lacking. I had no idea what to be expecting from Paper Girls, but I'm gald you're as obsessed with it as I am! It's weird but I finally feel like we are getting more answers, but also more questions.

      Starfish was so incredible! It made me cry three times. Thank you so much for the recommendation, Valerie!

    I have Shatter Me all downloaded on my Kindle ready to read, so I’m now even more excited to read it!
    Paper Girls also sounds intriguing, so I may have to try that series too. I’ve been looking for some good graphic novels to get into :)

      I hope you love the Shatter Me series! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I definitely wasn't expecting to become utterly obsessed with it!

      Paper Girls is one of the few graphic novels I have read so I don't have much to compare to, but I'd definitely recommend it. It's very mysterious and the art is gorgeous :)
