Quarterly Wrap-Up // October-December 2019

Happy New Year! I hope your 2020 is off to a good start. But if it isn't, that's okay too. As my happiness planner says on today's page: It is never too late to be your own dream self. 💗

Quarterly Wrap-Up // July-September 2019

Happy October, bookworms! The past three months have been interesting. It feels like lots of time has passed but also no time at all. Thankfully I have had good friends and good books to keep me company, and I'm finally starting to find somewhat of a daily routine now that I have finished university.

Quarterly Wrap-Up // April-June 2019

I hope everyone had a lovely pride month and that your summer is off to a positive start! 🌈🌞 The last few months have seen me slowly become more active on the blog now that I have finished university. I'm hoping to keep it that way for the rest of 2019, as well as bringing my focus back to my creative endeavours and pursuing my career goals. It's slightly nerve-racking to think of, but exciting too!

Quarterly Wrap-Up // January-March 2019

I'm back! It's been a stressful few months, but I'm finally free of my dissertation! I hope you have all had a positive 2019 so far, and hopefully you will see me being more active on here in the coming months now that my life is no longer entirely consumed by one project.

Quarterly Wrap-Up // October-December 2018

Happy holidays everyone! These past three months have been rather stressful. I'm in my final year of university and have a dissertation to write alongside other essays and assessments, and I don't feel ready. I know I will get it all done and that I will do well, but the difficult part is always the journey of getting there.

Quarterly Wrap-Up // July-September 2018

This has been a great summer for me, filled with spending time with friends, binge-watching Voltron (as per usual), family holidays, and going to lots of bookish events. But I'm excited to be getting back to my final year of university in October.

June Wrap Up

Sorry for the inactivity in the first half of the month! I had an exam in mid-June and it has taken me a while to get back into the swing of things and schedule some posts.

May Wrap Up // two new contemporary favourites

Sorry for the inactivity, friends! It's exam season and I've been a little preoccupied lately with applying for jobs, so I'm afraid I haven't been able to blog or read very much. I will respond to comments as soon as I can, but for now, the priority has to be essays. My last exam is June 12th, so hopefully a little after then I will be back to normal!

April Wrap Up // sci-fis and starfish

April was an amazing reading month! I discovered a new series obsession (Shatter Me) and a rare contemporary love (Starfish). Plus I caught up on the two latest volumes in a graphic novel series I've been following (Paper Girls). I probably would have read more had university not started again. I needed to re-read some of the sci-fi books I was assigned to write an essay on them (Dawn and The Gilda Stories). They weren't books I'd want to read more than once, and since I'd read them so recently, picking them up again was a bit of a chore. But they were still good books and my ratings for them stayed the same.

March Wrap Up // a mix of brilliant and meh books

I hope everyone has had a lovely month! My blog posting in March has been a little more spaced out than usual because I only took part in one Top Ten Tuesday post. I also didn't write a mini review post for the books I read for uni this month like usual because I didn't feel like I had more than a few lines to say about each of them. So to make up for the lack of my traditional mini review post, I'm going to give little summaries of my thoughts on all six books I read this month.

February Wrap Up

The books I read this month were all fascinating looks into worlds of fantasy and science fiction. I didn't read all the books I had planned to in February, but that was to be expected. But what I did read was really engaging, and I enjoyed considering the boundaries of science fiction with the latter three books I read. Can dystopias, vampire stories, and tales of magic realism all be considered science fiction? Does the genre have limits or can it encompass everything? I'm not sure I have an answer to these questions yet, but they were interesting to consider.

January Wrap Up // A Great Start to the Reading Year

January has been a busy reading and blogging month for me! I've finally reached 100 bloglovin followers which makes me super happy, and the average engagement for my posts has been the best it has ever been which is amazing. I also managed to get a lot of required reading done ahead of time for the upcoming semester, which should hopefully make getting through all of the books a little easier. Plus I read a total of 7 books which is awesome! Basically I'm in a good mood this month and I'm hopeful that I will be able to achieve more of my goals this year, both bookish and non-bookish.

December Wrap Up // Looking Up

I'm back to blogging regularly again, and just in time for the new year!

November Wrap Up

My reading wrap up makes the number of books I've read this November look far more impressive than it actually is! Three of the books I read were short stories (I read them all in one day!), plus one play (which I also read in a day), and a novel that was under 200 pages (read in a few days). But I'm happy to keep the illusion up that I'm doing a lot of reading!

September & October Wrap Up

These past couple of months have felt a little disorganised, but I think this blog is coming together again. As I said in a post in mid October, you're going to see fewer Top 10 Tuesday posts and more posts that I want to be writing.

August Wrap Up

My August reading hasn't been the best in terms of quantity. I was saying last month how I hoped to be reading more books this summer, but I wound up reading fewer in August than I probably have all year. What's worse is that for a lot of this month I had limited Internet, so I definitely expected to have read more. For #TheReadingQuest I thought I'd set my bar to 10 books this month so that I'd be motivated enough to reach at least 5, but perhaps the over-ambitious technique doesn't work for me. I think I'm going to cut back on the ambitious goal setting for the next month, and maybe I'll get to read a bit more of what I want before my required reading is required to be read.

July Wrap Up // a month of consistently good reads

July has been very consistent in terms of my reading. I read 5 books this month, which is just about average for me, although considering it's summer I was hoping to be reading more. Those five books were all YA Fantasy, which is to be expected, minus Meddling Kids which was Adult Horror/Fantasy. And to top that off, every book I read was either 3 or 4 stars. No new obsessions, but I did really enjoy all of them. Also from this month: I went to YALC! It was my second time going to this UK book convention, and I really enjoyed it despite being super antisocial (I think I recognised a few bloggers but I didn't want to be creepy and say hi). You can read about what I did in my YALC post which I linked at the bottom of this wrap up!

May & June Wrap Up

I've combined my wrap up post for May and June because I did really little reading in May and was also on a blogging break for most of that month. But I am back once more, and after a bit of a struggle to get back into reading, I actually found a couple of books I really loved.

April Wrap Up

Amazingly, I managed to read all the books I planned to this month! Although I really would have liked to read more. Sadly that won't be improving for the following months because of all the exams and assessments, but hopefully I'll get a ton more reading done in the summer.

March Wrap Up

I've been kind of out of it in the latter half of March, hence the lack of a photo header for this wrap up post. Hoping to be back on the ball in April.
