1. Chainbreaker by Tara Sim (2nd January 2018)
Timekeeper was super cute and a nice, easy read that I really liked last year. The world was so unique and unlike anything I've read before, and I'm really interested to see it expand. I'm hoping Chainbreaker is just as good and that we get to see the world in more depth.
2. Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed (16th January 2018)
I have been so bad with my ARCs lately, but this is one I have got to read. It's a YA contemporary about a Muslim girl and it deals with Islamaphobia and living with two cultures. I don't know much about the book, but the premise was enough to make me want to read it.
3. When Light Left Us by Leah Thomas (13th February 2018)
Leah Thomas' Because You'll Never Meet Me series is one of my all-time favourites, so I instantly added her upcoming book to my TBR. I love the author's individual sci-fi concepts and how they feel so soft and heartwarming, and this book sounds like it will be the same.
4. Smoke and Iron by Rachel Caine (3rd July 2018)
I assumed The Great Library series would be a trilogy, but there was no way it would all fit into 3 books. I love this world and these characters and the dynamics between them, and I am anxious to see what happens to them next.
5. Vengeful by V.E. Schwab (? August 2018)
Vengeful is by far my most anticipated book of 2018, but with the first book in the series, Vicious, being one of the best books I have ever read, can you blame me? I have no idea what this sequel will entail but I'm just so excited to be reintroduced to my favourite characters again.
6. The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee (2nd October 2018)
The Gentleman's Guide was such a fun book this year, and I was happy to find out we'd be getting another story from Felicity's perspective! I imagine the storytelling will be very different through her eyes instead of Monty's - much more sensible. But hopefully just as adventurous!
7. There Will be Other Summers by Benjamin Alire Saenz (date unknown)
I'm not even sure if this is coming out this year or not (it might have been on my anticipated reads list last year). But I know Benjamin Alire Saenz has been writing this sequel to Aristotle and Dante recently, and I love these boys so much that I wouldn't miss it for the world.
8. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green (date unknown)
I've yet to read John Green's new book, but already I'm also excited for Hank's debut. I love the vlogbrothers and all that they do, and I'm interested to see what kind of storyteller Hank is, because the premise of this book sounds exciting.
9. Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand (date uknown)
I'm not even sure how I came to find out about this book, but the premise sounds exactly like my kind of thing. Disappearing girls and a fantastical mystery sounds like the perfect book for me (I think I'm slowly establishing a book type), and the author's review on Goodreads only has me more excited!
10. Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman (date unknown)
I have yet to read the author's debut, but already I want to read her second book just as much. It sounds deeply heartbreaking and tragic though, so I'm not sure if I will get to it right away when it's published. I need to prepare myself to that!
Are you looking forward to any of these books? Have you read anything else by these authors? What books made your list?
This post was inspired by the prompt 'Top Ten Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2018' on Top 10 Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
None of these made it to my list but it seems like an interesting one.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to read all these books soon :)

ReplyDeleteCarmen`s Reading Corner
A year or more ago he said on twitter that he was writing a sequel to Aristotle and Dante called There Will Be Other Summers, and since then I've been keeping my eyes and ears open in case any more news is announced. I love those characters and I absolutely want to read more of them :D
