Awesome Books That Have Under 2000 Ratings on Goodreads

Top Ten Tuesday is Hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
Do you ever find yourself newly obsessed with a book only to find that noone else has read it? There are so many incredible books out there that don't get the credit they deserve, so today I am going to be sharing with you some of the bookish beauties I've come across that haven't recieved enough hype yet.

Contemporary
 1. Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate - I rarely enjoy contemporaries, but this one redemed the genre for me. It's told from 7 perspectives, each person representing a deadly sin, and it's incredibly well structured and written.

2. Radio Silence by Alice Oseman - This went so beyond my expectations. It was really relatable and so strong on representation that I can't understand why the blogosphere hasn't been raving about it yet.

3. Lemonade Mouth by Mark Peter Hughes - I read this after watching the Dinsey Channel Movie that it inspired. I have to say I prefered the movie but this was still really good.

Fantasy
4. Flood Child by Emily Diamand - This is set in a future where half of London is under water and society has reverted to a time of no technology and pirates.

5. Quicksilver by R.J. Anderson - Second book in the Ultraviolet duology. I loved it so much more than book 1 - the protagonist was great and the plot was so exciting.

6. Storm Runners by Barbara Mitchell Hill - I read this when I was really young but it's a Sci-Fi about these 2 girls stuck on an island in the middle of a violent storm that kills half of the population.

Middle Grade
7. Aggie Lichen; Pilp Collector - Rebellious tooth fairies. Honestly that's all I remember. It's a trilogy and it gets really dark and basically it's awesome.

8. The Night Parade by Kathryn Tanquary - This is a fun book based on beautiful Japanese Mythology. It's filled with magic and adventure.

9. The Shapeshifter by Ali Sparkes - This series was awesome. It had a kind of X-Men vibe where all the characters had weird powers and are taken away to a special school so they can learn to control them, whilst slowly realising that their school is more corrupt than it seems.

10. Jane Blonde by Jill Marshall - Another series I was obsessed with. An awkward girl discovers that her family come from a long line of spies, but now that their minds are wiped she has to defeat the villains for herself.

  1. Flood Child sounds so interesting! I've actually also seen the movie Lemonade Mouth, and liked it. I'm not sure I want to read the book though, which kind of makes me feel guilty.

    Great list!

    1. Flood Child is super interesting but I remember so little about it. Personally I don't think reading the book of Lemonade Mouth is necessary - for me the concept worked better on screen than it did on paper, but it still isn't a bad book. Thanks :)
