Books That Have Been on my TBR since Before I Started Book Blogging

Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.
I started blogging in June 2015, but the number of books on my TBR since before then is super small. This may be surprising, but if you've been stalking my goodreads (don't worry, I wont judge you) you'll know that I'm very careful to limit how many books I add to my 'to read' shelf. Right now there are only around 30! Hopefully I'll get to reading the following books this year.

1. Artemis Fowl and the Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer
Added: 14th February 2014
Artemis Fowl was my childhood, but it's been so long since I've read the series that I recall nothing of what happened so I have been avoiding reading the final book.

2. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Added: 5th November 2014
This book has been on my shelf since before I owned a copy. Now I have one and I still haven't read it. I blame constant new releases distracting me.

3. Stardust by Neil Gaiman
Added: 3rd January 2015
I got this for free on my kindle, and I have a problem with free kindle books. I buy them when I don't want to read them immediately and then they start to pile up. I haven't read half the stuff that's on there.

4. Uprooted by Naomi Novik
Added: 9th May 2016
I got this from a Goodreads giveway and just haven't found the time to read it.

  1. You are wise in keeping your Goodreads list small. It makes one feel a bit in control, I think.

I'm eager to read Uprooted, too.

Good luck on getting through it and all of these on your list!

  2. I admire your restraint -- I add absolutely anything that looks good to my GR TBR list. It's out of control, but that's okay. I know I won't read everything on there. I just use it as a reference when I go to the library or bookstore.

I loved both THE HELP and STARDUST. I adored the movie version of the former and loathed the movie version of the latter.

    Happy TTT!

    1. Haha thank you! It's good that you can work with long lists - if I see them my brain automatically percieves them as a chore. I also use mine as a reference, but because my list is so short I've practically memoried it!

I'm glad to hear you liked those two books. I've heard similar perspectives with regards to the movies but I guess I'll just have to wait and see what my thoughts are after I read them :)

      Thanks for visiting!

  3. The first three on your list are just the best! :)

    Happy reading.

    Check out my TTT.

    1. Glad to hear you think so! I'm sure I'll love them too when I get around to them.

      Thanks :)

  4. Omg only 30 on you goodreads?!??! THAT IS AMAZING. I have about 1200 at the moment.😂 I mean, they are all books I legit want to read, but then I want to read everything and I have a terrible habit of just adding any YA book ever that I see. Ahem.
BUT ANYWAY!! I have that cover of Uprooted!! I wasn't particularly impressed with it hhahah, but it has the best creeptastic forest I've ever read. So that is glorious. And omg I need to read Stardust too. 0_0 I have the same problem with freebies. They just like...come...and stay...and never leave.😂
    ALSO THE HELP IS INCREDIBLE!!!

    1. Haha thank you and OMG that's a lot of books! If I had every book I wanted to read and all the ones I own on my TBR then mine wouldn't even be half that amount.

This cover of Uprooted is glorious! I'm hesitant to get into it but creepy forests always sound promising. And yeah, managing freebies is a struggle. I have 1000s of free books on my kindle - half of which I never intend to read. And gahh everyone sings praises for The Help so I really need to stop making excuses and just get down to reading it :D

  5. My Goodreads "To Read" shelf is overflowing! It's where I put anything and everything I've ever wanted to read. I keep separate lists for review books and books with higher priority.

I hope you get to read these books this year. I loved The Help and I want to read Stardust too.

    1. Multiple lists is a good system and is what I used to do before I accepted I couldn't possibly read everything.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you and so many others saying positive things about The Help, it encourages me to read it more :)
